Dear Firearms Owner,

A federal election is just months away. We need your help to truly impact public policy and protect the rights and freedoms of gun enthusiasts.

How often do you think advocacy groups successfully lobby politicians to overturn legislation? The honest truth is, not very often. And yet, in recent years CFI and other advocacy groups successfully lobbied for the elimination of the wasteful Long-Gun Registry.

And, this summer we applauded the introduction of Bill C-42 – the Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act – as it received Royal Assent, meaning it is now law.

The best shot we have at continuing this pro-gun and pro-hunting momentum is right now, while the tide is on our side.

With an election looming this fall, we need your help to keep this momentum going. We need you to support your gun-friendly candidate or donate to us today so we can help protect the rights and freedoms of gun enthusiasts like you.

Just this spring, Prime Minister Stephen Harper asserted the rights of gun owners by saying “My wife’s from a rural area. Gun ownership wasn’t just for the farm. It was also for a certain level of security when you’re a ways from immediate police assistance.”1

And last summer, Harper’s Public Safety Minister, Steven Blaney, said: “To possess a firearm is a right.”2

But, Harper’s rivals, NDP leader Thomas Mulcair and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau do not take the same positive stance.

Mulcair promises he “will work to register firearms”3 and he “will continue to say clearly that (the NDP) favour the registration of guns, period.”4

Trudeau is no better. He has been quoted as saying that “he’s a firm believer in gun control,”5 and “would vote once again to keep the Long-Gun Registry.”6

Clearly, Mulcair and Trudeau would destroy everything you and I have worked so hard to achieve. They would do so despite the fact that a 2010 poll sponsored by the Canadian Firearms Institute (CFI) found that almost 76% of Canadian voters are in favour of legal firearms ownership.

That’s why we need to act today if we’re going to truly impact public policy and protect the rights and freedoms of all gun owners.

The current public perception of guns and gun-owners is primarily negative as gun control advocates use misleading and emotional statistics to turn opinions against us. Here at CFI, we’re working hard all across the country to educate the public and eradicate these misconceptions. Because the reality is that support for the sport is growing amongst not just men, but women and children as well.

We need your help.

We need you to stand up for your rights and freedoms to own firearms. Otherwise, it may not be long before the government walks through your front door and takes your guns away.

Help us change public perception and influence public policy by becoming a CFI member. You will not only receive grassroots political training, but you will also be covered under our liability insurance, have access to our training and certification courses and be supported in any issues or concerns you have as a gun enthusiast. And, if you join before August 31, 2015 you will have a chance to win Joe Meaux’s personal 870! (View Details)

We need to raise $250,000 to effectively educate and inform political candidates during the upcoming federal election. As a grassroots organization, we are entirely dependent on the support of every day gun-owners, hunters and enthusiasts like you.

Your contribution of $300, $150, $100 or even $50 will go a long way towards improving the public perception of firearms. If we don’t act now, we could be out of time. And if that happens, hunting could become little more than a fond memory you one day share with your grandchildren.

Please join and donate today, before it’s too late. (Download Mail in form)
