CFI Master Instructor – Sam Kim

Master Corporal Sam Kim is currently serving with Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a Tactical Psychological Operator and as a member of the 4 Canadian Division shooting team.  Sam is excited to share his enthusiasm for learning and a passion for firearms as a Master Instructor of the CFI.  His focus on safety, knowledge and practical skill acquisition is evident in his career in a variety of roles as an infantry soldier, armed guard, protective services operative, competitive shooter and tv / movie armourer.   Sam enjoys all types of firearms and shooting sports.  He has experience with: IDPA, PPC, IPSC, World Police Fire Games (NRA) type competitions.  He has won numerous shooting awards at provincial and national competitions within the CAF: pistol, rifle, CQB and light machine-gun matches.  In his spare time, he enjoys shooting shotgun skeet, trap, sporting clays and 5-stand.

After earning a Bachelors degree in Physical Education at Queen’s University, Kingston, he continued his path completing various specialty and advanced CAF qualifications and courses including attending the High-Risk Close Protection Course at Blackwater USA (now Academi).

Sam’s combination of education and practical professional experience makes him very adaptable whether teaching the basics to novices or honing the skills of tactical officers.   He brings 18 years of shooting, living and working with firearms to every class he teaches.  Sam’s education in Physical Education, training as military instructor, and friendly attitude contribute to an effective and fun learning atmosphere that all shooters of any level can appreciate.
