The intent of the law is not reflected in the letter of the law and by all indications the RCMP has chosen to follow the letter of the law - which leaves room for much confusion.
As of today - valid RPAL holders can take their firearms to the range without a paper copy of their ATT.
Key word being THEIR - meaning you can no longer take your wife's gun to the range without asking your provincial CFO for an amendment to your automatic ATT.
In short if it is not registered to you - you can not transport it. (more to come)
